This is a great lake campground. Bring a boat and play on the lake. I didn't fish but I heard that it is a good fishing lake. This would be a great lake to canoe on, especially since it is a no wake lake. It's a very peaceful place to camp. The bathrooms were decorated and clean. We stayed at #19 and it had ample room for our tent. There were some mosquitoes but not terribly bad in July. We were near a small creek. Apparently there are moose in the area. The sites had good shade and plenty of trees to feel like you are in the woods. Upper Payette Lake is an alpine lake with cold temps at night. Our GPS said the elevation was around 5500, so be prepared for some cold nights. There were blueberries on the trail to the lake too. We enjoyed our time there and will be back.

We stayed here in a Tent.
