| Not Well Thought Out - Needs Improvement | |
RV campsites are in an open area and come with a picnic table and fire ring. Those with hookups offer only 30 amp electric and a water connection. The permanently-installed anti-siphon valve on our faucet sprayed water, so we had to run enough hose and use a "Y" connector and share a connection with the courteous campground host whose RV was in the adjacent site. Bathrooms are a short distance from the campsites, but the showers are a long hike. Strangely, the bathrooms require a four-digit combination to unlock. Heaven help the poor camper who forgets the combination and needs to go. The shaded, wooded area next to the lake is swampy and breeds mosquitoes, which are a terrible problem. We encountered massive black clouds of those blood-sucking insects while there. A paved boat launch is available. Essentially the lake the main attraction of this park. If you don't have a boat, there isn't much point in camping here. To confirm your campsite reservation, you must make a non-refundable payment. Even if you have a medical emergency and are unable to come and cancel, and they rent your campsite to another camper, they still will not refund your payment. This happened to a friend of mine who was stricken with shingles and had to cancel. They rented his site to another camper but refused to refund his payment. There are better places to stay in the Syracuse area that will give you less aggravation.
We stayed here in a Class A Motorhome. | | Comments (0) |
