Worth the drive

Oak Forest is some 7 or 8 miles away from most Austin sights, but I think it's worth the drive. The park is lovely and well-maintained with lots of nice, shaded sites. The sites are level and concrete and full hookups are available, including cable TV and wi-fi. The wi-fi is frustratingly slow, though, so unless you have your own wireless card, just use the wi-fi for emails. The grounds and facilities are well-maintained. The bathrooms and laundry room are spotless. The staff seemed friendly enough, but then again we didn't get to interact with them much.

We stayed here in a Travel Trailer.

This is an outstanding park. Two campground areas. Long term is in back and separate from transient sites. Both areas extremely tidy. Nice smaller pool area and gathering pavilion. Wide paved roads and paved pads with picnic tables. About 20 minutes to downtown Austin. Bring your passport america membership and get half off. Easy big rig park. Plenty of shady sites and still open enough for dish reception.

We stayed here in a Class A Motorhome.
