Stayed one night. Has large, gravel sites, pretty level, nice pond with ducks. Very nice owners. Got there late afternoon and asked what time checkout was. She told me, at about whatever time you got here.

| Gave Us Reasons to Extend our Stay | |
When my wife and I arrived at Payne's RV Park and Campground, we were planning to stay for just a couple of nights. But when I was offered a satellite-friendly, spacious, open, level, grass/gravel covered full hook-up, pet-friendly campsite for a reasonable weekly rate we extended our stay. These campsites are set back far enough from Bellingrath Road to be quiet with lots of open space to walk our dog. We found that the two campground’s laundries and bathroom/shower facilities were clean, handicap accessible and in good working condition. The campground has a small pond with ducks and geese and an open pavilion for group meetings. Easy drives from restaurants, shopping, post office, inexpensive seafood, Bellingrath Gardens, Dauphin Island beaches, the USS Alabama and Interstate 10, we had comfortable, accessible accommodations.
The campground’s picnic tables have seen better days and need to be overhauled or replaced. Water pressure was nearly 90 psi, which I tamed for my RV with my regulator. Our site’s Wi-Fi signal was strong but it offered no Internet access. Instead, my wife and I used our four-bar Verizon Wireless 4G service to access the Internet. During our stay, the rest of the campground’s infrastructure worked flawlessly for us including our sewer and 50-amp electric connection. Since we have satellite TV we did not test the cable TV, but there were connections at every site. We'll stay here again.

| Good for one or two nights. | |
Close to Bellingrath Gardens and local groceries. Reasonable with use of Passport America. Nice size lots with full hookups. Able to get satellite. Washroom clean and laundry ok.
