We stayed here over Memorial Day holiday weekend so it was packed. They put us in a site for a 20 foot trailer, even though we told them that we had a 28 foot fifth wheeler. The scenery was beautiful, camping among the pine trees. Walked Watkin's Gorge. Recommend you start from the top of the gorge rather than the bottom--that way you are going down the 800 stairs, rather than going up them.
We stayed here in a 5th Wheel. | | Comments (0) |

Stayed here last year for the first time. Great place to go. Provides online reservation where you get to reserve the site that you want. Very honest. It's one of those few campgrounds that are not ashamed to tell you that they only have a few sites that can fit large RVs. Even though the campground can get fully booked and there's lots of people, the sites are amply spaced apart that it's not that noisy. Nice hiking trail. Well shaded. Highly recommended.

The campground is right around the corner from the main attraction, The Cavern!
The tent site we stayed at was very basic. A picnic table, fire ring and the fresh dirt, air, and trees! It was very peaceful and there was plenty of privacy.
There is a pool too, which was fine.
It feels just like you are in dense woods, a little spooky late at night, but in an exciting, good way.
