| Wonderful wildlife viewing! | |
This park is really nice! Roads are in excellent condition and trees are well-trimmed, making entry and exit easy. Campsite parking is asphalt and most are extra wide and extra long, with enough space for an RV and 2 or 3 additional vehicles! Most are level, but a few are not. Utilities are convenient and work well. Dump station has 3 lanes/drains to cut down on wait times. Campsites are well-kept and include a picnic table, lantern pole, waist high grill and fire ring. Restrooms and showers are modern and clean. Firewood is available for $5 a bundle. There are lots of things to do here, including hiking, fishing, nature center, observatory (Saturday night only), and tons of wildlife to view. (Yes, alligators!) The park is quiet and peaceful at least during the week while we were there. Verizon and T-Mobile service was very strong at park headquarters, and so-so in the campground. We received over 100 over-the-air TV channels! We really enjoyed our stay here and can’t wait to return!

We stayed at this park Novemer 26-December 1, 2011. This park is beautiful! The sites are large, level, concrete pads, and each site has a fire ring. They are all back in sites which wasn't a problem because the sites are long and wide. There are no sites with sewage but there is a dump station on the way out, and all sites gave water and 30 amp electric. The showers and restrooms were clean and convienient to our site. We had a large selection of local television stations but our wi-fi and cell phone signals were weak. We visited the nature center during our stay and the volunteer was kind, knowledgeable, and eager to tell us about the park and the wildlife. This park has many trails for hiking and biking...too many to count and certainly more than we could see in 4 days. The park was fairly empty, really quiet during the week. We will definitely be back.
We stayed here in a Class A Motorhome. | | Comments (0) |
