Hammock for Camping and Tenting
I'm in the process of creating a hammock (that I'll eventually make available on Amazon) to use for camping and regular summer use. To give you a brief background, I'm an engineer who spends a lot of time outdoors and I'm always looking for something to design and improve upon. I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas for what they would look for or want if they were buying a hammock. Some specifics I'm wondering about are:
Material
Colour
Weight (rugged or lightweight)
Length and Width
Connection Method
Integral sack or separate sack
Any other ideas or previous products that you've liked/disliked would be awesome!

I'd love a small portable hammock with integral sack, and with an optional light weight, camo. , rain proof top.
So, you can set it up quickly for camping.

Re: Hammock for Camping and Tenting
I am only five foot tall, so a smaller length option hammock would be nice.
I like an integral frame - most places I camp do not allow placing items on trees.
I like red or tan
Separate sack is fine.

Re: Hammock for Camping and Tenting
When I was a kid my father bought us two jungle hammocks at an Army Surplus Store. You could hang them between two trees or set them up as a one person tent. I think nylon rip-stop one would be great and any color like safety yellow or orange and camouflage for sure. A separate sack then you could do like I do and stuff some of your clothes in it and use as a pillow at night. A good rain-fly that has grommets so you can tie it off to keep rain out and for ventilation. And mosquito netting to keep the bugs out. Maybe a few pockets to keep things in while you are in it at night for your flashlight or what ever? Good nylon rope to tie it off and big enough for one person.
I remember one summer sleeping out in my jungle hammock almost every night. I think an updated one would be cool to have again.

If you’re a frequent adventurer, you’ll want a camping hammock that is truly versatile. There are many camping hammocks out on the market and all have their own strengths and weaknesses
