Some important safely considerations for outdoorsmen, especially this time of year
Modified By admin on 11/13/2015 4:38:50 PM)
Recently I have had a couple of e-articles published on a well know Contributor Network.
These contain timely advice for those planning to overnight in the back country this time of year.

A Carbon Monoxide Detector May Be Your Most Important Piece of Cold Weather Camping Equipment

An inexpensive carbon monoxide detector may prevent your next overnight cold weather adventure from becoming your last. Outdoor enthusiasts are sicken or killed every year by this odorless, colorless gas.

If this information prevents just one calamity, then my time has been well spent.

Most RV's I know of, come with a Detector, it is a good idea to check them often and ensure they work, the battery operated ones need to have the batteries changed regularly, (at least annually), also make sure the LP detector works.
The Carbon Monoxide detectors also have a "replace by " date on them, mine was beyond the date, so I replaced it.
