Things to Look for in a Popup Camper
My folks have decided to finally give RVing a try on their own after coming along a few times with me and my family. I recently accompanied them to a local trade show and they decided that a popup camper is what they would want to get. I really want so much to help them find a really good deal, but I really don't have that much knowledge when it comes to popups. What are the things that we should look for when choosing a good popup camper model?

There is an article here on How to Buy an RV. You can check it out for some info on it.

Check the interior to make sure that it's got ample space for you to store everything without bumping into them. I'd also recommend to choose the newer models since the older ones don't have any built-in bathrooms or areas to put an A/C.

Re: Things to Look for in a Popup Camper
My wife and I stepped up to a pop up after many years of tenting. We started out with just your basic one. Stove and frig in it. We had that one for 2 seasons .Then bought a used pop up Viking with a slide-out dinette with a heater three burner stove and a three way frig. The slide-out gave us more room to move around. It also had a fold down couch in it to. It was nice to have another place to sit at besides the dinette on rainy days. The heater was also nice just to get the dampness out of the inside.
We also found both of them on Craigslist. They were both used but in great shape. The most we spent was $2800.00 They just needed some TLC and a good cleaning. We went with used until we found the one that was right for us then bought a new one.
Good Luck and we hope your folks have fun!

YES, the beloved PopUp campers, wow do I have some stories growing up around the many PopUPs. I recall once helping an old man fix the support wire that controls the lift of the top part. I was young and would not have been able to do it at his age, what a JOB that was to fix, but together we did it. My uncle, Brother-in-Law, Adult Leaders Boy Scouts, and Young Marines all had PopUps. My girlfriend's father had one and let me tag along a few times with them on campouts. Man, that was so much fun. even with no A/C. You had to slide them out carefully as to not rip the cover. FUNNY how everything closed into its self well do PopUP Builders well done.

DogMan - The posted thought above are my own.
