Homemade Fire Starters
We always bring along a small container with cotton soaked with some petroleum jelly and use it to make a fire whenever we go camping. What about you guys?

I always collect the lint in the drier after my wife does the laundry and dry it up. Best part of this is that it's free!

Drier lint, cotton soaked with petroleum jelly, dried leaves and twigs lying around.

Dry steel wool also works really great.

Two thumbs up with the dry steel wool. Learned about it from a friend of mine and never had a problem starting a campfire since then.
