Have someone volunteer to be your advance party. That way, they will be able to try to negotiate with the campground hosts if the sites can be close together, and will also be able to help you more with directions in case you get lost.

I agree with Mary. Better yet, have someone to volunteer to visit the campground way ahead of time to scour the place. That way, you guys will know what are the different amenities they have there. Things like where are the showers, what are the kinds of cooking facilities there, are there any amenities for the kids and stuff like that.

Always confirm the final headcount a week before you all leave. That way, you can make sure who's coming or not.

Yes, it is always a good idea for someone to go ahead to check out the place to make sure that when you all get there, you have everything that you need.
