USA Road trip
Hello, I have a question, a major concern actually. I'm 52 and retired and make $1150 a month. I've decided that it is time for me to get out of my recliner and see the country. I don't want to die in my recliner 20 or so years from now with things I've always wanted to do, left in dreams only. I am about to buy a used Jeep Liberty, and get one of those air matresses specifically made for the back of an SUV and one of those tents that attach to the back of the SUV, etc., etc. My main concern is, can I do a USA Road trip just TENTING across America, with just myself, or possibly one other person on $1150 a month? I sorta made a budget and tried to include everything like toll money, laundry and stuff like that. I also want at least $2000 in the bank for any car repairs. So, think I can do it on my income or not? Oh and what do you do about prescriptions and mail?

Re: USA Road trip
You might be able to do it, IF you stick to the National Parks, National Forest, BLM land, & don't stay at the over priced commercial campgrounds. Are you talking short trips, or cross country
Not meaning it as an insult, or to belittle your situation, but that's not a whole lot of money, as you know, one of the main expenses will be gas, followed by food, you would have to be extremely frugal.
