Looking for a family tent?

Although some might disqualify some of the tents from this list, they are definitely cheap and a go for entry-level enthusiasts. I heard from people that bought a tent for lower than $100, this was 10 years ago and it still holds up to this day. Although the Marmot Halo 4p would be better for sure someone could buy a Coleman to first see if they seriously want to get into camping. I'm talking strictly about beginners. It would be a waste to use an amazing tent once or twice just to let it rot afterward somewhere in a forgotten place.

One of the better tips I can give you is and this is a really good one! What ever you buy get some seam sealer and get both kinds the spray and the roll on! Because the new nylon tents tell you that they are waterproof and for the most part they are. But the seams are not! So do all the seams before you go even the rain-fly.
My wife and I bought a new nylon six person tent years ago and got it home and set it up in the backyard before we went on our two week camping trip. And on Friday night we decided to sleep out in the backyard. And of course it rained like Hell later that night and all the seams leaked like crazy and we ended up running into the house soaking wet very early in the morning. We went back to where we bought it and told the sales person about it. She walked right over to the shelf and handed us both kinds of sealer and I said sold! It did the trick.

Am I not using it alone? Why do I need a tent if I have a trailer?) I never understood such people

I've been using a Coleman cabin tent, it's huge and ridiculous. but obviously not for backpacking. I love it. It's so easy to set up and take down; set-up is doable with just one person (possibly of a certain height, we are 5'8"+), take down is easiest with two to help stuff it back in the carrying case.
