Re: Keeping Perishable Foods While Camping
Since your friend has been going there all the time and you'll only be there for a week, why opt to bring some canned stuff? Of the things that you mentioned, it's the meat items that would require to be refrigerated to stay fresh. Veggies and other stuff will be fine in room temperature or with minimal refrigeration. The idea of getting single-serve cartons of milk instead of the large ones will come in helpful too.

I completely agree. Besides, chances are you guys will be together during meal time. Talk it out with your friend. Aside from bonding time, you guys will be able to cut back on groceries and the amount of food that you will need to bring to the trip.

I'm confused, it sounds like you have an RV, as you mentioned generator & refrigerator, if so, where's the problem, run the generator & refrigerator, if it's good & cold when you shut down the generator, it will stay cold for 6 hours +/- as long as you don't keep opening & closing it.

bukhrn is right. If you don't have one yet, go and get a generator and you wouldn't have any problems.

Re: Keeping Perishable Foods While Camping
If keeping the food is going to be a problem, use your generator. Since your friends are familiar with the campground, they will be able to tell you just how much gas you'll need to keep it running throughout the entire stay.
