Propane Stove vs. Hot Plate
Because of the increasing gas prices, my wife and I decided to alternate using our Motorhome and going tent camping. Although we don't have any problems with cooking over the campfire, there are some things that the kids have always enjoyed eating while we're camping that we'd need something more than just a campfire for. Would a propane stove or hot plate be much better?

Re: Propane Stove vs. Hot Plate
We have always used a propane stove. It's more flexible in the sense that you're not restricted to using them in a campground or place where you get electricity. You also don't have to worry about people tripping or animals gnawing on the cords.

Go for a Coleman 2-burner propane stove.

I agree. Coleman 2-burner propane stoves will be the best option for you

Re: Propane Stove vs. Hot Plate
Since you mentioned the stove will be for tent camping, I'd suggest to get a propane stove. Hot plates require electricity, and based on my experience, it can take quite a while for a hot plate to get hot enough to cook anything. When you're tired and hungry, this waiting time can really be very frustrating. Also, you won't be able to bring it with you while you go hiking, so it pretty much defeats the purpose.
