Has anyone here done anything with geocaching? Is it hard to do, or is your GPS pretty reliable? Is it a lot of fun? What kinds of items have you found? What types of things do you replace with? How long does it usually take? Any feedback would be much appreciated.

My uncle does it. He loves it, and he says it's very easy. Check out http://www.geocaching.com/ to find caches near you. Actually, the site does a great job of explaining all your questions.
There's a good article that once was posted on this site too. Here's the link: http://www.campingroadtrip.com/whatsnewarticle3072009.aspx |

It's really fun!
The GPS really helps, but part of the fun is the challenge. And sometimes, a location that looks very easy to get to on your GPS actually requires a lot of manuevering around to get to. So you have to come up with alternative routes to get to your location, such as navigation around a river.
I once came upon the movie "Airplane" as a find. That was pretty cool. |

Great movie and great find. I hope come across a geocache that good. Have you ever hidden a geocache? If so, how did that work? Thanks for your help.

Haha, "Roger, Roger". "Clearance Clarence". That movie was a great find for sure.
Yes, I've hidden a yo yo geocache. I put the yo yo in a plastic tube and labeled it "Official Geocache" on the outside with a sharpie marker. I also labeled the yo yo as such. I left contact details within the tube, as well as a small logbook, pen and pencil.
Outside and within the tube it's important to write the coordinates of your Geocache. You get those from your GPS. After you've done all of that, you go home, logon to the internet, and fill out the online form.
