Feedback on Walt Disney's Ft. Wilderness
My wife suggested for us to try staying at Disney's Ft. Wilderness during the coming Spring Break for the kids. I know that there are a lot of review websites, but I'd personally like to hear your thoughts and feedback, especially since I know the rates will not come in cheap.

Personally, I don't like it. It's way too expensive and too busy for my liking. The sites are too tight for large rigs. The only reason why we keep coming back here each year is because of the kids. They really like the place and really enjoy the activities that they have lined up for them. So pretty much it's an okay trade off.

Re: Feedback on Walt Disney's Ft. Wilderness
We were happy with the one time that we stayed there. We've been to Orlando a couple of times and only stayed at Ft Wilderness once. It is great if you are going to Disney as you get the same resort early and late park openings, and can charge things in the park to your 'room' so there is no need to carry all your stuff with you. We found our campsite well maintained, with a concrete pad and nice and level. We didn't particularly like some of the people staying around us, but you always take that chance when you camp, especially at a campground where the sites are in relatively close proximity.

The price was comparable to other campgrounds in the Orlando area, but it's a bit out of the way to get to if your main destination isn't Disney. In those cases, we prefer to stay somewhere else. For reference, we are coaster and amusement park enthusiasts, as well as rv enthusiasts, so we travel to more amusement/theme parks in a year than the average person.

Re: Feedback on Walt Disney's Ft. Wilderness
Stayed with the family there last November. It was a really beautiful park. Sites were really spacious and clean. But getting ourselves settled here was a pain so much that my wife and I spent the entire first day arguing and just really frustrated. The layout of the site that they gave us was very tricky to park our rig in. It took us such a long time that we managed to get a crowd watching us. Pretty embarrassing. As if that wasn't bad enough, one of the legs of the 50amp in our site was not working. We called the office who told us that they will get someone over there to have a look at it. After a few more hours with no one showing up, I called again to see if it will be possible for them to give us a new site since the hookup was not working. It was already dark when we finally got settled. Pretty much wasted an entire day.

Have been going there for the past few years. Agree with what everyone else mentioned here. Pretty busy (especially during the holidays) and really expensive. Kids really enjoyed it. Aside from the tight sites and sometimes weird layouts, we've pretty much had an okay experience. Knock on wood it doesn't change.
