High Falls State Park, GA |
High Falls State Park is a great little park with a man-made water fall. Since they are a state park, they have only electric and water hookups. The river is a great place to wade in the rocks and water. They also have a swimming pool but we haven't ever used it as we like to go in the Spring usually and it's chilly then. The CG is mostly wooded but has a lot of pine trees. The CG is a great visit for a weekend. It is right off I-75 in Jackson, GA. In the area, there is a catfish restaurant that I understand is a good place to eat. Buckner's is a another popular place for down-home southern cooking with a lazy susan buffet style dinner right at your table. A must visit local attraction is Dauset Trail Nature Center. It is free! but they do ask for donations. They have some really neat wildlife to see and it is landscaped very nicely.

My family has just recently stayed at High Falls State Park on three separate occasions due to us relocating. It is a nice, quiet park and we really like it. We plan to park our RV there when we have family come to visit and let them stay there in our RV. We have ate at Falls View Restaurant twice now. It is a good place to eat catfish and it is the last building on the road, before you enter the campground. We have also heard lots of good things about Buckner's, but have not made it there yet. |
