October is one of the best months to camp. The weather is cool, the foliage is vibrant and beautiful, plus it has the spookiest holiday of the year... Halloween!
We think Halloween spent in the great outdoors is simply eerier than a Halloween spent at home. But Halloween is not just for creepy costumes, pumpkin carving and scary stories galore. Another thing that we really love about this holiday is the treats!
Halloween has now become a popular event for many campgrounds and RV parks, so if you will be out camping or RVing on Halloween, make sure you have yummy Halloween treats and Halloween snacks prepared for the trick or treaters as well as fun and easy Halloween inspired cocktails for the adults. To help we have come up with a list of easy to prepare treats perfect for a camping road trip. You may want to prep them at home and pack it to go, or if you have the means to, you can also choose to prepare them in your RV.
TREATS
Witches' Warts
Serves: 8 (2 oz. per serving)Preparation time : 20 to 30 minutes
Our version of the Witches' Warts is very simple. These are actually sugarcoated peanuts, similar to beer nuts served in bars. All you need are print-out labels to accompany them!

Another recipe of Witches' Warts consists of chocolate coated nuts or raisins. The ingredients and instructions are basically the same, instead of adding peanuts, add the chocolate coated nuts/raisins when the sugar has caramelized and turned into the consistency of honey. Coat evenly with the caramelized sugar and remove from heat.
Witches' Fingers
Serves: 8 servings per one package of (16 oz.) Mozzarella Cheese Sticks or 2 Cheese Sticks per personPreparation time: 25 to 50 minutes
Unlike traditional recipes of Witches Fingers, Halloween camping recipe does not require you to bake! And it taste like Pizza!

Preparation time: 2-5 minutes per cupcake
This is a recipe that requires zero cooking. These cupcakes are not only easy but also fun to prepare. You can ask your kids to help you decorate these!
Lollipop Ghosts
Preparation time: 1-3 minutes per lollipop ghost
The Lollipop Ghost is a classic yet very simple Halloween treat that you can give to trick or treaters.

If we have treats for the kids, we also have treats for the grown-ups! For those throwing an adult party, of course the drinks should also be themed for the spookiest night of the year. Here are some simple to prepare frightening cocktails for you and your guests.
Tip: 1 standard shot is equal to 1 fluid ounce
Black Martini / Black Cat
A black drink? It's hard to get any more Halloween than that! You will need a cocktail shaker and some ice.

Bloody Martini with Eyeball
A bloodstained drink garnished with a creepy eyeball.
You will need a cocktail shaker, a peeler, an ice tray, water and some ice and you must have a freezer in order for you to make an eyeball garnish.

Screwed Up Screw Driver
A gorgeous, two tone drink that is very easy to prepare drink and uses only 3 ingredients. You will need a tall glass and a teaspoon.
Dracula's Kiss
This is another visually stimulating two-tone drink that is perfect for Halloween. You will need a highball glass for this drink.
Now that you have all these lovely Halloween recipes, you can be sure that your Halloween camping and RVing will be anything but uninspired.
