| Older park, good for families. |
We stayed here over the 2011 4th of July weekend. I had given Garden of the Gods Campground a deposit when I made my reservation two months in advance. Sometime later I was contacted by the park, prior to my arrival, asking for full payment. This was unexpected so I declined. In the end, it didn't make any difference as I payed upon arrival and still got my reserved space. At check-in, I found the staff nice, but not organized and lacking focus. The woman that helped me could not find my reservation so I had to produce a hardcopy. Because of the holiday weekend the park was crowded, but not unreasonably so. This is an older park, with nearly level sites, mature trees, cabins, and ample room to navigate. Restrooms and pools were clean. The location is close to just about everything, including Manitou Springs. There is a bike path adjacent to the park. Try the campground BBQ and Amanda's Fonda across the street - both are excellent.
We stayed here in a Travel Trailer.
