We loved this park and wish we could have stayed longer. Next time we'll take our boat. The river was right behind our campsite and the campers on either side of us took their boats out everyday. The campground is close to Mammoth Caves and was nice and quiet. Clean restrooms and large sites are a plus.

Nice quiet park. It is a strain to get up the road to the campground because it's so steep. We've never had a problem with the road even in the rain. We just put the truck in low gear and take it slow. Large roomy sites with nice bathrooms. The hike to the bottom of the waterfall is long but worth it. The lodge is convenient for using your computer and the views are nice. The buffet is actually pretty good there. On a hike in the woods behind the campground we found the beginning of the Appalachian Trail. We will go back.

| Nice friendly park, would stay there again. | This park is close to the interstate so it's very easy to get there. Lots are nice, roomy and clean. We only spent one night but wish we had planned to stay longer. The host told us the park usually fills up on the weekends so plan ahead.

We camped in a space near the water and it was nice and quiet. The bathrooms could use some work but they were okay. We enjoyed the free lazer show and enjoyed our four days there.

| Great campground...lots to do. | There is a fee to visit the fort but it's worh it. The campground has two sections one on the beach and one on the river. It can fill up quickly so make your reservations early. Great for hiking, biking, fishing and enjoying the outdoors. The beach lots are in the full sun so take that into consideration if your going during the summer when temperatures are usually in the 90's. The river lots are wooded with lots of shade. Fernandina isn't far and there's lots of nice restaurants and it's fun just to walk the streets and look in the shops.

| Loved camping there...enjoyed the caverns tour. | Nice clean campground. The caverns are a must see. If you haven't visited I would suggest you put it on you list to stop and spend a few days.

| Nice park for fishing and relaxing. | Some sites are directly on the river. Quiet relaxed atmosphere. Most campsites are roomy. Be sure to keep pets leashed.

| Nice, friendly park on the river. | Big open lots, some on the water. When we stayed there the dock was closed due to repairs. I'm sure it's open by now so you should have nice access for fishing.

| Great park for hiking, fishing, boating and bike riding. | Most campsites are private, some are on the river. Wild deer and white squirrels are usually spotted everyday. It's out in the country, several miles to the nearest store for supplies. We love camping here but the last time we were there 2009 ticks were a real problem.

Re: Looking for a good chili | It may not be the best but tastes great and is so simple to make.
Five One's Chili 1 pound lean ground beef 1 can chili beans including juice 1 heaping tablespoon chili powder 1 medium onion chopped. 1 small can tomato sauce
Brown and drain ground beef add onion and continue to cook until onion is soft. Add tomato sauce, chili beans and chili powder. Add salt and pepper. Simmer about 15 minutes. I usually add about a teaspoon of brown sugar and chili powder to taste. Serve with sour cream, shredded cheese and chopped onion. When camping I usually cook the hamburger and onion ahead of time and freeze it. Makes a quick one pot meal. You can add any extras you like or delete the beans it's all up to the cook :-)
