We just returned from a tent-camping trip at Hard Labor Creek State Park. We were so unimpressed and actually couldn't pack up quick enough to come home. We camp monthly at other GA State Parks and have NEVER had such a bad experience. The ONLY thing we liked about the campground was the site we chose, which was multi-level and it had a great stone picnic table. Other than that, ew.
Like I said, we are tent campers so I'm sure others in their grand motor homes survived just fine. The "lake" and "creek" sites are basically no more than muddy bogs. I can only imagine what the mosquitoes and snakes are like at those sites. The bath houses are not very conveniently located... prepare to walk in pitch blackness in the middle of the night as there are NO street lamps or other lighting at the campground EXCEPT for what people have rigged up on their campers. Bugs were TERRIBLE especially in the bath houses. I was greeted by a scorpion
