| Great Price, Surprisingly Quiet Overnight Stop | Basic campground with flat dirt full hookup sites with 20, 30 and 50 amps, but you get what you pay for. $15 overnight fee is hard to beat. Although it is 0.5 mile from the I-10, it was surprisingly quiet at night. Toilets and washrooms are clean. Has laundry - washing machines and dryers look old. Showers were only cold, but I used my own. Big store with lots of products including fresh jerky. Views of mountains in the distance. Also has WiFi, but didn't use as I had my own. Great overnight stop. Most of your neighbors will be overnighters going West or East.

| Nice clean modern resort - great for overnight or longer stays | We stayed in site 91 - back in full hookup site. It was concrete, flat and wide. Sites are adequately spaced apart and all have picnic tables. There was no shade so it can get very hot in the summer. We didn't use the WiFi or cable.
This is a modern well run resort - the staff were very friendly and it has a lot of great facilities - fitness center, big laundry room, library, swimming pool, hot tub, dining room and outdoor deck for BBQs. Shower rooms were large and private and available 24/7.
It is close to the I-17 so easy for a one night stay if you're passing through. 35 minutes outside Sedona, so I wouldn't recommend staying here if that is where you want to spend your time. However, if you're exploring the Camp Verde area I would recommend staying here. Short drive to Montezuma Castle NM and Out of Africa Wildlife Park, Fort Verde State Historic Park and V-Bar-V Heritage Site (petroglyphs).

| Older Park With Clean Facilities - Good Base for Visiting Red Rock Country | This is a very large resort with multiple sections. We stayed in section B close to the hot tub and swimming pool at a full hookup gravel site. The sites services worked well. Our site like most in this section had a slight slope that could be fixed with a leveller. Each site was long enough to fit the RV and a car and came with a picnic table. However, the sites were too close together for my liking with no privacy on one side, and only a little on the other. There was no fire allowed at the campsite.
There is no WiFi from the sites only at the recreation halls, but AT&T worked well from the RV. The resort has two recreation halls with sofas, large TVs and board games, one between section A and B and one in section H. It also has a large outdoor heated pool and an outdoor hot tub. There was a playground for older children, volleyball court, mini-golf (in good condition), homestyle grill restaurant, store, horseshoe pits and pickleball courts. There is a laundry with 8 washers and a number of dryers located in section H.
The facilities were old looking but clean and well kept. Everyone was very nice. The only issue I had was the speed limit, 10 mph between sections and 5 mph in the sections. Because the resort was so large it would take 10 mins to drive out of it.
The resort is close to Cottonwood in the desert and very quiet. It was a great base to visit Red Rock Country. It is a 30 min drive to Sedona.

| Beautiful Quiet Cozy Campground with a Farm Feel | Was surprisingly impressed when I first arrived. The driveway in was like arriving at a Kentucky ranch complete with white picket fence and horses.
We had a back in full hookup grass site with 30 amps. The site was very long and wide and overlooked a field and was nicely spaced from our neighbors. The bath house was clean with private showers that are coin operated. The laundry worked well and was reasonably priced.
The Saco river runs by offering a picturesque view, especially for tent campers whose sites are right by the river. In addition, you can easily canoes/kayak from here.
Would've been 5 stars if the WiFi worked from the site. Had to go to the office - but it worked well there.

This is a very nice wooded campground. Our full hookup pull thru site was gravel and flat. The site services worked well including WiFi. Space between sites was fine. The amenities were excellent. The swimming pool, bath house and laundry facilities were clean. Lots of things to do for families with kids including tennis, disc golf, arcade games and an game area with giant checkers and table tennis.
Only downside was it was a long walk up a hill to get to the bath house and laundry from our site.
I would stay here again when in the area.

| Clean But Short and Narrow Sites | We stayed here as we wanted to visit Pima Air and Space Museum. This park is only 5 minute drive from there and is easy to get to.
The park is slightly dated, but it is very clean and the amenities have been maintained well, with a nice pool, recreation room with small library, pool table and kitchen and a good sized laundry room.
The sites are gravel and flat and the services worked well. I didn't use the WiFi. However my biggest concern with the park was that the sites were short and very narrow with no space between and would offer no privacy when full. It has half empty when we were there as it was outside snowbird season, so we had no one next us and it wasn't such a big issue. Also there is no shade which would be a problem if staying in the Summer.
The manager was pleasant.

| Narrow Sites But Pretty Location | A pretty location. We had a waterfront full hookup site #10 that is by the creek. It was a flat grass site and the site services worked well and WiFi was ok. However, the sites are very narrow with little privacy between them. They also don't allow campfires on the narrow sites. You need to pay for a more expensive wider site if you want that. The small laundry, restrooms and pool were clean and well maintained. They also had a nice recreation hall.
The tent area is huge and by the main Guadalupe river. There is also a big riverfront hiking trail to enjoy.
Close to Kerrville and stores like Walmart.

| Fine for a Few Nights But Beware Passport America Pricing Is Not 50% Off | I have mixed feels about this park. I'm going to give it a 3 star rating as it's fine for a night or two. I almost gave it a 2 star rating due to it's disappointing policy on Passport America rates.
It is a snowbird park, majority of the park consists of RV sites. There are mobile homes in one section towards the front along with an RV section for adults only. Families & kids are allowed in the middle and back section of the park.
We stayed in May in their low season so there were lots of sites available.
Positives first:
1) Clean park and well maintained 2) Sites are long and nicely spaced and site services work well 3) WiFi was free and excellent 4) Nice swimming pool and recreation hall 5) Nicely priced laundry
Not So Positives: 1) Sites are not level - you need stabilizers or RV levelers on most sites 2) Some parts of the park have run down trailers lived in by permanent residents 3) Dated needs some TLC and modernizing 4) They do not offer 50% off for Passport America although they claim they do. They only honor Passport America in their Value season from May 1 to Sep 30. However, the PA rate is based on 50% of the Peak Season rate not the Value Season rate. So for example we got 50% off, $38 per night, yet the Value rate was $25. So in reality they do not offer 50% off the Value rate. IMO this is the wrong and strikes me as being dishonest and greedy. As a result I won't stay here again.

There isn't much to this park. The sites were level and the services worked well - we had a full hook up site, but the sites are very close together with little privacy. WiFi is good. They had a rec room with a big tv and library. Showers and restrooms were clean.
Laundry only has one washer and dryer, but when we were there, no one else was using it, so it wasn't a problem.
There is a lot of road noise too. This is fine as an overnight stop to visit Texas Hill Country.

| Nice Resort With Lots of Great Amenities | Large resort that is a snowbird destination with a number of park models as well as a small hotel. When you register, it's like checking in at the lobby of a hotel. This resort has lots of 5-star amenities, 3 pools, spa, lots of tennis courts, fitness center, nice laundry, billiards room, restaurant and even a massage center and nail salon. Showers are clean and modern. They also have 24 hr security and you need to carry round a resident badge in case someone stops you!
The RV section is like a large open parking lot and divided into pet and no pet areas. All the RV sites are gravel and long. We had a pull thru site and in our section. However the sites are too close together offering little privacy when lots of people are staying. There are narrow patios that run beside every site and each one has a picnic table. I would've given this resort 5 stars if they had some shade and there was more space between the sites.
WiFi was available from the sites for a fee or free WiFi was available from hotspots in the resort.
We had breakfast at the restaurant but the food wasn't that great - bit like Denneys!
Passport America rate in May was $23 a nite - good price. I would definitely stay here again as it's very good base for touring the area.

Planning a RVing trip with my kids in the summer this year, 6 and 8 yrs old. Any advice on whether KOA or Yogi campgrounds are better for keeping them entertained. We're going for a week.

Re: Camping Illegal in City Parks? | Since when is it the police's job to help homeless people? Aren't there shelters, churches or charities that support them?
