| Great location, excellent value, big-rig friendly | We have stayed at Boyd Lake State Park several times. Park Rangers professionally enforce campground rules. Fellow campers were very considerate, with a quiet family atmosphere even during major holidays. It has excellent access to extensive municipal bicycle/foot paths, including connections to mountain bike trails in foothills to the west. Close to full-service shopping and services, yet a great camping experience. It is very close to Fort Collins, which has a national reputation for many attractions. It is also very convenient to regional medical facilities. It is much less expensive than the commercial campgrounds north of Fort Collins. We are full-timer RVers with a 40-ft motorhome, and whenever we are in the Fort Collins/Loveland area, Boyd Lake State Park will be our first choice.
We stayed here in a Class A Motorhome.

| Beware of owner with violent temper | My wife simply went to the KOA/Lakeside office to ask about the high guest fees for our day-use of the playground. The owner soon became very agitated, completely lost his temper, and closely followed her out of the office while shouting insults. Very intimidating! WOMEN SHOULD NOT ENTER CAMPGROUND OFFICE IF OWNER IS PRESENT. The KOA Corporate office has opened Case Number 376348 regarding this incident. The BBB has lowered its rating of the Lakeside KOA campground because owner has not responded to multiple customer complaints. Lakeside/KOA has subsequently blocked the ability of customers to submit reviews on their corporate KOA website.
