Looking for RV campgrounds near Ellensburg and this had a best rating. We arrived late and were told to "pick a spot". The campground is very near a busy (trucks) highway that roll throughout the night. The driveways and sites are mostly all dirt with a sprinkle of gravel. Although along side, a waterway there does not appear to be any watering system and therefore near void of any grass/lawn. The restrooms/showers were acceptable and appeared clean. The sites were long enough so that we did not have to detach our toad. We don't care for the all day dust bowl and high traffic noise and would not stay here again. But then, is there a second choice in the Ellensburg area? Sad!!

I gave this campground a single star based on the close proximity to Glacier's west entrance. It is downhill from there unless you enjoy trains running thru your campsite or trucks/cars flying past all night outside your back door. Then there is dirt road and sites. All but one site that we saw which is a single flat asphalt site near the "lodge". I call it a lodge even though cluttered and was more into selling antiques than providing a lounge/comfort area. The bathrooms/showers. are dirty. You can't dry off in the "closet" shower stalls without wiping down the shower walls as you do so. There is no way of drying your hands after using the facilities. No towels, no machines and NO soap dispensers. When asked about not providing towels, the older office ladies (owners?) informed me that there were no towels on account of RV'ers take them to wash their windshields? Those horrible RV'ers that just spent $50 for the right to park in their dusty/noisy RV sites and NO discounts. Shame on all those RV'ers!! The toilets were not cleaned for the two nights we were there and when I informed these ladies of the filth and it being the worst RV campground in our month long trip to the Canadian Rockies, the profanity began and I was blamed for the toilet filth. As a retired banker I've never been treated in such fashion in all my years of RV camping. Never EVER again here!!!

What...no railroad trains rolling thru your RV park? Trains are over a mile away and of little/no problem. And while close to the main truck/car route thru West Glacier, we experienced minimal noise. Add to that the park is ULTRA clean. Yes, the sites are washed small stone and there are but few trees for shade. But the sites are wide with GREEN grass with minimal to no dust!! Restrooms/showers are cleanest in our month long trip thru the Canadian Rockies. We stayed for two nights near the west entrance to park and put up with railroads on one side and high traffic noise on the other...and dirt/dusty sites and small closet bathrooms. The 13-14 mile drive to Glacier is pretty and we enjoyed breakfast/lunch at the Alpine Inn/Hungry Horse passing thru. We were able to wash our filthy rig on site for a small water fee. Staff was friendly and professional. This is not a "kids" park. If you're looking for playgrounds and screaming kids you'll want to look elsewhere. We have already marked for a return trip to the Rockies next summer and Columbia Falls RV will be a must stay for multiple days. We stayed at CFRV in a large motorhome w/toad.

Average campground w/average restrooms/showers. Stayed one night. Close to freeway was a plus with minimal freeway noise. Spaces were very close together and there seemed to be a high percentage of long-term residents in the park. Not familiar with the area I might try looking for another campground the next time I pass through Windsor.

The good news is that there were new and very nice restroom/showers... as good as it gets. The bad news...VERY bad news is that the park is located directly next to a busy railroad track. Stayed here one night and it was like there was a train nearly every hour. With the park entry/exit crossing right there the train was on the horn with each passing. I swear the train passed down the middle of our queen size bed. Too bad as the park was clean with a nice view of the Arkansas River. Unless you can sleep with a train in your ear every hour...keep driving. We WILL NOT be staying here ever again!

I use the word "adequate" to describe this small RV site to mean, quite frankly, that it provides a spot to get off the road and grab some needed sleep... except there are railroad tracks in the vicinity and being that the site is on the outskirts of a small rural community you do hear the train whistle at times during the night. We found this site after fighting high crosswinds for the better part of the day in our Class A motor home. The sites are pull-thru with most sites shaded. The bath/shower facilities are again adequate without bragging rights. Inexpensive. Little or no long-term residents. It would not be my first choice IF there were other choices. Thus... adequate! We did not have reservations but kept seeing the signs as we approached Gallup and decided to take a chance. The entire park is gravel... as in grassless. The good news is that the restrooms were near spotless and showers large. Sorry to hear that they have a sister park in Amarillo and we had been so disappointed at another park we stayed at near the freeway the night before. A bit of "green" would have been nice as well as asphalt roadway(s). For those reasons I can only rate a solid 4 star. Would stay again. Tad, Oregon

Stayed one night in a Class A motor home in October, 2013. Friendly and most helpful staff. Found both the grounds and bathrooms to be very clean. Even though it's the off season, I would bet the same would hold true for the busier season. It is a bit out of the way so be prepared going in to have ample food supply, refreshments, etc. Would recommend this park to anyone and would stay again in a heartbeat next trip from Oregon.

Near perfect setting, clean, spacious, paved sites. Have never stayed in such a spacious campsite. Stayed in "premium" site for a few dollar extra and worth it. Beautiful lakeview setting. Bathrooms/shower older but clean. Camp hosts don't know the meaning of work and demonstrated it many times over during our six day stay. Highly recommend! 5 Star! Tad, Oregon
