Area is beautiful, nice for visits, but camp elsewhere

We read the other review and we're coming at nearby Guntersville State Park. We took some time to visit Buck's Pocket State Park. Very "country" and beautiful. Access road will put big-trailer drivers to the test. Unfortunately the facilities were very poor. Bathhouse was horrible with no working urinals and only one working toilet. Showers - ugh! Women's side was just as bad. If you're just a group of dudes, then try it out. If you want to keep your ladies happy, it's a day trip. Camp at Guntersville and visit as we did and you will be happy. This campground looked like it was wonderful in its day, but it appears to not be maintained and suffers from years of neglect. Not to leave on a negative comment, the area is beautiful and we found great areas to fish and kayak in other areas of the park. We will return, just not with our camper.

We stayed here in a Travel Trailer.

Nice Secluded Campground

If you're looking for a getaway and you love camping, this is definitely one campground to try. It's a very small and secluded park. There are a lot of trees around to give you plenty of shade. The staff here are very friendly. The restrooms here are really clean. Most of the sites here are paved with gravel, but there are some that are paved with concrete. We managed to get to stay in one of their concrete-paved pull thrus that has a full hookup. But if you're the type who wants to rough it out, there are also a lot of tent sites for a more primitive style of camping. They also have a small playground to keep your kids are busy. There's no cellphone reception here, but then again if there was any, it defeats the entire secluded getaway idea.

We stayed here in a Travel Trailer.
