December 16, 2012
When we arrived in mid-December 2012 with an on-line reservation that had been made months previously, we were informed that there were problems with their well, that water was being piped in through a fire-hose and that it might not be safe to drink. I would have preferred to have been informed about the water problem ahead-of time, but we managed to fill our water tank off-site and avoided using the campsite's water connection altogether. Campsites are shaded and have a mostly gravel parking area. Each site has a concrete rectangular pad for the picnic table and a fire ring. The sites have electric and water hook-ups but RV campers will need to use the campground's dumping station for sewage disposal. We found Skidaway Island Campground to be a convenient, quiet, restful, woodsy location with a courteous, helpful staff but we're disappointed to not have been informed prior to our arrival about the water problem.

We stayed here in a Class A Motorhome.

We love coming back to this campgound because it's one of the few ones that offer the comforts of a private campground and the breathtaking sceneries you find in a state park. Shady sites with full hookups and cable TV. Spotless bathrooms and laundry facilities. Rangers were extremely friendly and helpful. Near the Historic District but seems like your miles away with all the woody areas.

We stayed here in a Class A Motorhome.

We loved loved loved the views in Savannah. It was a great campground, great drive out there and it was just a great overall experience. Very popular spot. Not recommended for those looking for a private trip. I would definetly go back. Next week the kids and I are traveling to Alabama but we are not sure if Savannah can be topped.

We stayed here in a Travel Trailer.
