Unrealistic Shipping Costs at Camping World
So I went online yesterday to get some replacement bulbs for our Motorhome's fridge. Found one at a good price (89 cents) at Camping World. Ordered a couple online just so that I have some stock here in the future. But as I was completing the order, I was surprised to find out that they were going to charge me $11 for the shipping and handling fee! I mean, seriously?! It's crazy if you ask me.

Unfortunately, shipping costs tend to be fixed when you buy anything online. When I say fixed, that means that they already have a set rate based on the weight, number of pieces and whether you'd want it standard or rushed delivery. Yes, it does sound unreasonable considering that the amount that you're paying for the item is way lower than the shipping. But since you mentioned it's just a couple of lightbulbs, why not go directly to a Camping World outlet and just buy it there? I know you can also pay for it online and then just pick it up there too.

el fuller is right. That's not only applicable with Camping World, but any website where you can buy something and then have it shipped to you. Unless you plan on buying a lot of different items from Camping World other than the light bulbs, I would recommend to just pay for it online and then pick it up from the outlet near your area.

I agree. Shipping and handling costs are fixed. I use that usually as the basis if it is worth to shop for something online. Rule of thumb is that if the shipping cost is 1/3 of the price I'm paying or more, I'd rather just buy it directly in the store.

No offense, but if it's just a few lightbulbs, why not just head over to Walmart and grab some?
