I was recently told about SKP Co-ops and became interested in knowing if any one knows of one in WNC or anyone interested in forming one. Any thoughts/suggestions would be appreciated.

SKP are members of Escapees. Escapees is a club for Rvers offering discounts, newsletters, etc. I was recently told that they have two RV co-ops. In fact they have a long waiting list. It appears they buy a lot , put in electric, pad, septic, etc. and own it for life. They also appear to pay association dues. Then they share and maintain a communal garden, etc. It would be like forming an RV community with the exception the lots would/could be larger. A concept that has possibilities. WNC stands for Western North Carolina.

Welcome to the forums, Travler
We came across one of their co-op parks while we were in Arizona. From what I remember, the starting rate to lease a lot there is over $9,000. That is, if the lot hasn't been leased previously. If it was, there is a $200 transfer fee. On top of that will be any improvements that were made by the previous leaser. The concept is good, but with those hefty prices, it's just way too steep as an option for us. |

| Thanks for the information. I have not seen the co-op other than a few photos and it appeared to have very few trees and the RV's appeared to be close to each other. I also heard they have a two year waiting list. I like the overall concept. Some of the RV resorts tend to start around $100,000 and go up. |
