The breathtaking beauty of the outdoors and cuddly cold nights make a perfect combination for a romantic camping getaway that you will never forget. With Valentine's day fast approaching now is the time to start planning.

While the common ground of tent campers and RVers is the love of the outdoors, they have their own unique personalities. What can be considered as a romantic camping destination for one couple may not necessarily be for another. That's why we came up with a list of ten romantic getaway destinations to choose from to ensure you have an unforgettable getaway with that special someone.

Napa Valley, California

When you think of a romantic camping destination, one of the first places that comes to mind is California's Wine Country. With its enchanting wineries and vineyards, California's Wine Country is perfect for couples that love food, wine and the great outdoors.

One of the things you have to try in California's Wine Country is to hop on board the Napa Valley Wine Train. Hailed as "Napa's Most Unique Restaurant," the Napa Valley Wine Train takes you through 18 miles of scenic vineyards and rolling hills on board refurbished vintage train cars while wining and dining on some great food.

Fort Lauderdale - Florida

Hailed as the "Venice of America," Fort Lauderdale is another romantic getaway destination to consider. Take a romantic water taxi ride along any one of the 185 canals that cut through the city. Stroll down the Riverwalk promenade and enjoy the breathtaking sunset, and an evening dip in the sea.

Savannah - Georgia

Savannah is the place to go if you love immersing in a bit of culture just as much as spending time in the outdoors. Dubbed as the prime example of a Southern city, Savannah welcomes you with open arms in true Southern style. Here, you can enjoy a leisurely afternoon tea in a cafe, take a trolley tour around the city or visit the city's Historic District on a walking tour or even a bike tour.

Kauai - Hawaii

If your idea of a romantic getaway involves spending time camping by the beach and enjoying water activities together, then head off to the beautiful island of Kauai, Hawaii. A popular destination for couples looking for some fun in the sun and sea, it also offers some exciting activities like hiking trails, surfing, and breathtaking scenery like the Napali Coast and Waimea Canyon the Grand Canyon of the Pacific.

For those campers and RVers that love to party, head over to the vibrant city of New Orleans in Louisiana. February is the month when the colorful Mardi Gras Parade happens in the city. Looking for a romantic getaway where you and your sweetheart can enjoy more than the usual outdoor activities? The White Mountains in New Hampshire offers you just that. Take a trip around the spectacular winter scenery on a dog sled pulled by a team of Alaskan Husky sled dogs or explore the different trails with the use of skis or snowshoes.

Santa Fe - New Mexico

Relive the romantic days of Cowboys and Indians in the unofficial "Oldest Capital of the United States". Visit the Museum of International Folk Art with more than 120,000 objects on display, including a collection of miniature buildings, streets and village scenes from 100 different countries. Go hiking and snowshoeing through the desert trails and visit any of the 19 different Indian pueblos where you can witness various presentations of Native American culture, and get your hand in making some Native American jewelry and artworks. Of course Sante Fe is well known for it's natural healing and therapeutic powers, so don't forget to take time for some r & r in a spa resort.

Finger Lakes Region - New York

The Finger Lakes region located in upstate New York is one of the favorite romantic getaway destinations you can enjoy all year round. During Valentine's, when the region still experiences a bit of snowfall, it is great to hit the slopes and enjoy a variety of winter sports activities. During the spring and summer, visit the rolling hills filled with vineyards or walk some of the trails to the highest waterfall in New York at Taughannock Falls State Park. Watkin Glens State Park is also not to be missed. Within two miles, the glen's stream descends 400 feet past 200-foot cliffs, generating 19 waterfalls along its course. The Finger Lakes region offers some of the most beautiful fall foliage too.

Charleston - South Carolina

From its cobblestone streets and horse-drawn carriages to its historic mansions and beautiful gardens, the city of Charleston exudes a romantic getaway for couples this Valentine's Day. While you're here, make sure to take some time for a horse drawn carriage ride, or a walking tour and a stroll along the Battery to watch the sunset.

Moab - Utah

For thrill-seeking couples who are looking for the next adventure high or challenging hiking trial, Moab, Utah is where you want to be. Moab is known as the adventure capital of Utah and there is a good reason why. There are many trails of varying levels for you go to mountain biking. Nothing beats the thrill of white water rafting in 40 degree weather! So, if you and your honey are die hard adventure seekers then look no further. No matter your level of experience - there's an activity for everyone. You'll even find trips that range from half day to multi-day events which are truly accommodating for the couple on the go! If you enjoy hiking, head on over to Arches National Park, open all year round. Along one of the more moderate trials is where you'll find the most remarkable natural formation - the Delicate Arch. One thing is for sure, you won't run out of romantic adventure spots on this road trip.
