This is a great little hiking spot although the heat here in Texas can be killer! The pine trees provide nice solitude for a little while down the trails. It is a state park so you don't have to have a license to fish, they encourage it for any body.

This is a nice clean park. You and your family including pets will want to go back. I enjoyed the river walk here. It is also a great fishing spot. The bathhouse or pool is a great way and clean way to cool down after enjoying the trails.

This is a great place to relax at for some catfish or Bass fishing. There is golfing nearby also if that is your thing. Also there are some really great trails to discover all around this area so go do that then cool off in the pool or clean bathhouse.

This is a great cookie cutter of a place to camp. I like the location it is close to the river activities in San Marcos. Even though it is small they have a weight room in the clubhouse.

This is not the classiest of places but definitely fun. The goal on this trip was floating down the river and staying up too late at the site, to put it mild! I always love a site that has beautiful trees. It is better to go RV to this one unless you really don't mind the getting down and dirty aspect. Bath rooming not pleasant unless it just got clean if you know what I mean!

Great escape in the Texas Hill Country because of the scenic views. The staff are extra friendly and the place is well maintained as is most things in this area.

Amenities include laundry, picnic areas including a gazebo, and a pond other than that it's pretty rural. It's dog friendly and always a plus for me is the shade trees.

Not so much a resort really but it's okay. It is shady and very pet friendly. A warning about the traffic along the interstate is, stay off and away from about three to seven on week days, there is heavy congestion, I found it better to just wait it out in the pool at Lone Star.

I love the location of this place because of all the surrounding activities. It is Located in a beautiful Texas city with a German history. I recommend going for the sausage festival in October or any time during the summer to go to the huge water park that is close by.

The pluses about this place that I enjoyed was the pool, its shaded by lots of trees including palms, and the laundry services are 24 hours. The only down side is that it's so close to the airport so they are always flying overhead, but you really do get used to it.
