For an urban campground, this Camping World of Chattanooga campground is surprisingly peaceful. Most sites have a fairly level, pull-through configuration offering 30-amps but 17 have 50-amp connections. Each has a picnic table. No tent camping is permitted.
In season it would be desirable to arrive early since reservations are not accepted and the sites fill up quickly. Many of the sites have their sewer connection near the rear. As a consequence, motorhome owners with cars in tow will find that the sewer connection will be too far away if they pull far enough forward to get the towed car completely on the site.
We found the bathhouse to be reasonably clean and modern offering hot water showers and semi-private dressing areas. Free Wi-Fi is available from Camping World, Xfinity and an adjacent hotel. The hotel gave us our fastest, most reliable connection.
Chattanooga has numerous tourist attractions that are easily accessible from this campground including Ruby Falls, Rock City and Incline Railroad on Lookout Mountain, Choo-Choo, Tennessee Aquarium, Chickamauga Battlefield, Riverboat Dinner Cruises, shopping and flea markets.
Check-In is in the Camping World store. There is a gated entrance to the campground, but while we were there, the numeric gate code was posted at the entrance for anyone to use. The free cable TV offered a decent collection of analog channels. Ordinarily I would rank this as a three-star campground but its low rates gave its ranking a boo | | |  Comments (0) |
