Make sure to contact the State Dept to check if there are any advisories before you make any plans to go camping there. The situation in Baja can be quite unpredictable. Sometimes, it's not really much to worry about. But you never know.

Always make sure that you keep your gas tank filled up whenever you have the chance. Fuel stations can be hard to come by while you're there. Don't forget to bring your passport since you're technically traveling to another country. Oh, and get a travel insurance for you and your RV while you're in Mexico. You never know what could happen while you're there.

Try planning your trip between December to March. That's the time when the whales migrate in that part of the world. They usually do whale watching tours during this time. Would be something that you'll never forget.

X2 on the whale watching. We tried it just this summer, and the kids absolutely loved it.
