Some tips for your first camping

Camping is a fun outdoor activity. You can bring your equipment, find a quiet place to camp in the mountains, and enjoy the peace and happiness in nature.

Camping means different things to different people. It is beautiful, but that beauty is based on adequate preparation. If the camping is a failure, your experience will be greatly reduced, and you may swear when you come back and never go again.

How to start camping

1. Weather

Bad weather can make camping exponentially more difficult. In the wind, your clothes will get wet, and the tent will be blown away. It's easy to get panic when you're camping for the first time. To avoid the failure of camping, it is most reliable to be optimistic about the weather forecast.

It is necessary to choose the good weather—sunny day is the first choice for camping, pay attention to the wind direction and avoid strong winds.

Finally, try to start when the temperature does not fluctuate greatly. Bad weather must be canceled—if the rules are not respected, the natural punishment will come soon, making the camping disappointment and frustration.

Safety is not only about the weather, but also about the difficulty of the route.

2. Route

Many people overestimate themselves when they go camping for the first time. They want to take very difficult routes and bring heavy equipment, which often makes them very tired. Because of this mistake, many people's first camping has become a suffering, and the gain outweighs the loss. So for the first time camping, try to choose the easy route.

The so-called easy, from the data point of view, the single-day mileage is about 10 km, it should not exceed 15 km, and the climb is about 500 m, and it is not declared to exceed 800 m. In terms of road conditions, you should choose a route with obvious mountain roads or horse paths, and there should be no difficult terrain such as dense forests, rivers, and high-altitude areas along the way.

Climb intensity is the main source of route difficulty, the mileage secondly. The greater the intensity, the greater the loss-the route is too difficult and the intensity is very high. Maybe there is a sense of accomplishment before departure, but the process may only be painful.

In terms of safety, companions are also very important.

3. Leader and partner

After staying in the mountains for a long time at night, various problems such as cooking and drinking water are uneasy. It is very important to choose a good leader and partner.

A good team leader—familiar with the route, professional and reliable, makes people feel at ease and safer. Leading a team for a long time, and a team leader with many old players when organizing activities is probably a good team leader. Most of the old players are leaders with good reputation.

Good partners - familiar with each other, encourage each other, can share the joy of the journey, and can also share the burden of tents, cooking utensils and so on. You can walk with like-minded friends and family members who get along day and night. The standard of a good teammate: the level is the same, they can chat well, and they can help each other.

Improper team formation is dangerous. Camping is a team activity, without the guidance of the leader and the help of partners, the potential risks of getting lost and injured will be greatly increased. Weather, route, and companions, if these three aspects are well grasped, camping can be said to be more than half successful, and there will be no major problems in terms of safety.

The choice of campsite is very particular, the following are the points to note:

Proximity to water: Camping is inseparable from water, and proximity is the first element in choosing a campsite.

Far Cliff: When camping, you cannot set up your camp under a cliff to prevent casualties caused by falling rocks.

Near the village: The campsite is close to the village. If there is any emergency, you can ask the villagers for help. In case of emergency, it is convenient for personnel transfer.

Lightning protection: In the rainy season or areas with more lightning, campsite must not be set up on high ground, under tall trees or on relatively isolated flat ground.
