Hey ya'll, is it me or has it been a brutal summer in the Northeast?? This heat reminds me of when I was a little girl growing up in Arlington, Texas. How have ya'll been coping? The heat brings out the child in me- I run around with my children in the sprinklers! The neighbors think I'm crazy!! LOL. The ice-cream man coming around at 4 everyday doesn't hurt either! Ya'll are probably thinking that this lady has too much time on her hands- ya'll are right! Hubby brings enough bacon home to support the both of us! Stay cool.

It sure has been! Being from OKC I thought I was used to this heat but shoot, these New York summers are tough, even for an old cowboy like me! Small world actually Angie, my good ole Uncle Bill is from Arlington, been working a feed lot down there for 25 years! You been back down recently? Living in New York is tough, not quite enough land for me, but I do my best to hit the road and get myself back into nature whenever I can! But nowadays, I find myself just wanting to be in air conditioning! I feel like a sell out to all the hardened cowboys that came before me. Anyway Angie, you stay cool yourself and keep cooling down with some ice cold popsicles!

A fellow cowboy and New Yorker! Small world, aint it? Gosh Darnit, there are so many feed lots in Arlington. I don't recall a Bill. The gentleman who cared for my horse, Isabelle Grace, was named Wayne Stevens. I'm sure your uncle Bill is a good man though and cares deeply for these majestic creatures. You feel like you get some weird stares from the folk up here when you have on your cowboy boots on? LOL. I went to a Yankee game with my cowboy boots, my Rangers shirt, and the folk here had a hoot! If you know of any good places in NY that have pig roasts, let me know! I would love me some roasted pig! Have a good day now! |

| I'm in NY about 80 miles north of the big city, I love the heat, hate the cold and hate the NYS taxes. Just got back from a trip up through Maine, lay home in the pool for 2 weeks or so and heading down to the Great Smoky Mtns. for a couple of weeks. NY in the summer, Caribbean and FL in the winter. If we can get rid of Obama and every other imcumbent in the country, life would be great. |

Howdy, Murffdog. Sounds like you don't like NY much. I agree with you on all of the above. The folk over here are rather mean and inconsiderate. I always say "please" and "thank you" and it doesn't seem reciprocated. Folk here think they are better than everyone else. LOL. Little do they know that being packed like sardines, having high taxes, and horrible traffic does not make them superior. Quite the opposite. Where about do you visit in the Smoky Mountains? I've been meaning to go down there, just haven't had much time. As far as Obama, i am perplexed by what you mean. Incumbent means an official who was reelected. Obama is still serving his first term. I rather Obama is our president rather than some old geezer and his idiot running mate. Toodles, I think I hear the ice-cream man.
