Forget the typical Valentine date this year. Why not instead do something fun, creative, memorable and ecofriendly. After all, this is your big day to show your loved one how great you are!
Here are a few Valentine ideas that won't burn a hole in your wallet or the ozone layer, but will have your partner's love set aflame. Good luck!
Go Hiking
Hiking could quite possibly be the easiest, most romantic and environmentally friendly Valentine date if it is done right. So let's get right to it. Gentlemen, in order to woo your lady on your outdoor Valentine's adventure you need to bring a few little "surprises" along the way. In a backpack be sure to pack a bottle of champagne, some nice dark chocolates, and a blanket to sit on, as well as some water, food, headlamp and map.
Before you set out for your hike, be sure to give it a test run by yourself before Valentine's Day. This will allow you to plan out your romantic moments, and to make sure that you select a trail with a beautiful scenic overlook. This is the spot to lay down the blanket and pop the champagne! As Valentine's Day is a Monday this year why not combine the hike with a weekend camping trip. You'll get several romantic nights together under the stars. Find campgrounds and RV parks near your chosen destination.
Go Beach Camping
The beach is the perfect spot to get away from everything, leave your worries behind, and focus on what is truly important to you. So it's no surprise that beach camping is an ideal Valentine dating spot. It's an even better place to spend an evening camping. You can setup a sunset dinner on the beach, and (if your beach doesn't have fire restrictions) take a walk along the beach to collect driftwood, then dig a hole in the sand and have a fire under the stars, set to the sound of crashing waves. Waking up to the sunrise over the ocean will really cap off the date!
To keep the date environmentally friendly pick up some beach litter along the way. It will make you both feel better about yourselves, and make your date even more special!
Have a Romantic Organic Dinner while Camping
Going out to dinner at a fancy restaurant is nice. It is also overpriced, overdone, and unoriginal. This year break the mold and create a truly memorable dining experience for you and your loved one.
Go on a camping trip with your sweetie and bring with you premium organic food, a picnic basket stuffed with your nicest silverware and dishware from home (think fine China), chairs and a small table with table cloth, a candle, wine glasses and wine. Cook your favorite meal together and enjoy your candlelit dinner under the stars. This is a night you'll both remember!
