| Great owners, clean restrooms | We stayed 4th of July weekend. Our weather was bad but the campground was nice. Friendly owners, very clean restrooms and shower house. Big playground for the kids. Workers help you to your site and assist with your trailer placement. We would stay there again.

| Nice spread out campground | Nice large park with lots of shade. This campground is bigger than most with several loops to choose from. They have a horsemans camp ground which is primitive. Nice flat sites with gravel. Roads are paved. Restrooms could use more care to cleaning. Bring your bycycle, lots of real estate to ride on. Camp store was very nice, clean, and well stocked. We camped in a pull through which used to be two sites at one time. Plan on staying there again for sure.

Nice private campground. Staff made us feel very welcome. The main restroom /showers were VERY clean at all times. Sites vary with shade and slope. If you have a bigger rig, you may have to hunt a bit for a site big enough. Site pads are gravel. We camped at an electric/water site. Cerdarbook comes by and picks up your trash and has can recycle bins loated throughout. The pool is very nice, top shelf! It's a bit of a challenge entering the CG from the street. You can easily miss the turn if you don't know where it's located. Workers escort you to your site which is a nice touch. The only down point to this CG is the location of the dump station. It is located at the intersection of the main road, office, and pool parking area. It can get congested coming and going.

This is our hometown campground. We camp here at least 10 weekends a year. I will say the bathrooms could definatly use a spruce up. The shower houses are not too bad. All of the roads AND site pads are paved. Not something you see at a lot of campgrounds. Cowan Lake SP has great hiking trails, a commissary that has absolutly everything including a grill. This CG has two nice pet areas. They are heavly wooded to keep pets cool. Thus, with all the shade this leaves very little grass. If you experience rain during your stay it can be messy, bring straw. The lake has a 10 mph motor limit. We don't boat, but this pretty much eliminates the "roudy" camper/boater crowd. Overall, this is a great campground for the family.

Re: RV dealership wasn't hurt by the recession | I've been to CampLand RV. Very nice dealership, lots of RVs for sale. They are along the expressway leading into Chicago. They have an awsome location for traffic.

Re: Cowman Lake State Park (OH) throwing huge Halloweeen Celebration!! | This is awsome event to check out if you are in the area next year. Camping sites sell out quickly 6 months before the event. Campers go all out with decorations and there are a lot of activites for kids throughout the weekend.
