| Great base for visiting Williamsburg | This park is lovely, right on the riverbank, as the name implies. It's a great base for touring Williamsburg and the surrounding area. The site we got is nice, paved and roomy enough. Hookups work, but no cable or wi-fi. If you're boating, this is a good place to do it.

| A clean, well-maintained park | This KOA is very clean and well-maintained. The owners seem to put in a lot of work in it on a regular basis. They and the staff are quite helpful and accommodating, making sure their guests are comfortable. The sites are large enough. Some of the more woodsy sites are occupied by permanents, but they're good. The only downside to this place is you only get two hours of the wi-fi free per day.

| Roomy sites with lots of shade | There's a lot to love about this park, and first of them is it's got big, roomy sites. There's lots of shade here too, though the trees aren't thick enough to interfere with satellite signal. Only electric and water available, but there's a dump station onsite. Bathrooms are sparkling and cleaned early every morning. Lots of restaurants and hiking trails close by.

Entrance to the campground is a bit of a bumpy ride. Staff here was very friendly and accommodating. Offers Wi-Fi but we weren't able to use it during our stay. Sites are paved with gravel but rather uneven, also well marked so they are pretty easy to find. Close to shopping district and Mt. Washington. Pool was pretty small. Playground did not look that kid-friendly. Wouldn't mind staying here for a day or two, but not longer than that.

| Good enough for overnighters | Maple Leaf is no destination park, but it is good enough if what you are looking for is just a place to stay for a night or two. The sites are narrow, but they are paved and have full hookups available. Cable TV and wi-fi worked fine as well. Roads are also narrow but they are paved with asphalt. There are many permanent residents but their sites are clean and their units relatively new. There's some road noise, but otherwise it's quiet here. I may stay here again if ever I'm in the area.

| Safe Campground for the Family | If you're looking for a place to go camping with young kids, this should definitely be on your list. Very safe and quiet. The owner of the campground is very nice and friendly. He can be a bit strict when it comes to the policies, especially when it comes to the speed limit here. But for me, I don't mind. Just goes to show that he's concerned about those staying here. Very large sites. Love the beach nearby. Very close also to Pensacola, FL too.

On the upside, the beach by the lake front was really nice. It had a picnic area and a pretty okay playground for the kids. Just be careful making your way down here because it's quite steep and the staff won't bother to help you haul your stuff. Nearly all of the sites didn't have any shade so it can be quite hot, especially when the sun's out. Make sure that you bring you own shade if you do decide to come here.

My husband and I made a reservation at another campground in the area, but it didn't work out for us, so we drove around looking for a nearby place. And we found Colonial Mast. We've never heard of this place before, but we sure are glad we found it. The place is clean, the site is adequate size-wise, and we got full hookups. The staff we met were friendly people, and the campground is a convenient drive to many places of interest in the area. Even if you do choose to stay inside the campground, there's still a lot of things to do like fishing and swimming in the pool. They've got decent wi-fi too, though no cable TV. We're really glad we found this campground and we'll stay here again if we're in the area.

| Rustic Campground with Nice View of the River | There were a lot of trees around the campground, which gave it this woody rustic feel to it. Asphalt covered roadways made it easy to drive around. RV sites were small and close to each other, but provide really great views of the Rogue River. Full hookups are provided on all sites. Friendly staff. Good WiFi reception. Sites were level. Will definitely come back.

| Expected More for the Price | The park grounds were nice and well organized, the staff here was friendly and helpful, and the views along the river are a sight to see. But for the price that I paid for the vacation here, I was expecting that their facilities would at least be well maintained and kept up to date if need be. Their restrooms are complete out of date and were screaming for a remodeling. Had they paid more attention to these kind of things, I would have given a much higher rating.
