| Boondocking across from Stanley Lake | Campground is usually full but across the road about 1/4 mile from Stanley Lake Campground just past elevation sign is a dry camping area. Great view free and lots of room with more sites along the road. Stayed 3 days we liked it so much. Good fishing and Stanley is a great little town.
We stayed here in a 5th Wheel.

Nice hikes from campground. No water but nice new marine toilets. Good fishing in the stream for foot long brown trout and brook trout. tight fit for bigger RVs. My truck and 5th wheel are about 53 foot long and there were 5 or 6 sites we would fit it. Plan ahead on the loops. Good gravel road to it with not too much washboard and some one lane road.

Several playgrounds, petting zoo, and small water slide. Pretty good fishing in the lake. Camp sites in the full hookup area are very close together. Quite a few trails that are marked well.

Sights 24, 22, 21, 20,19 have a great view of the South Tongue River. The South Tongue is full of brooks trout and moose with calves roaming the meadows. The campground has nice large sites and marine toilets are new. Water and wood is available. Hiking, Fishing, ATV trails abound or kickback relax and checkout the view.

It is bear and wolf country. North end of campground is VERY tight for RVs. I saw a wolf 15 foot away.

| Great View, Super Fishing and Paddling | Great view, level sites, some sites can be a bit muddy, marine toilets, hiking from campground and close by, Fishing in lake ( quite good ) , In summer warm days cool nights. It is bear and wolf country. They say RVs 40 footer will fit in campground. It would be very tight in numerous places in a 35 footer.

Re: craziest thing in a campground | There was this large couple with 3 kids. They told the kids to do their job on popping up their camper and then they could play with their friends at the park. The kids took off to play and the couple decided it was a good time for them to play. One of the kids didn't do his job with the rear jacks on the popup. So, went the couple started rolling around in the back bed the camper tipped and the naked couple rolled right through the canvas and out on the ground. The camper flipped back up and they had to make a naked run for the door.

Re: craziest thing in a campground | Late one night ouside Pinedale Wyoming I was picking things to leave early the next day. Everyone was in bed and no lights were on and I looked up and 15 foot away there is a wolf watching me.
