| Nice north rim CG with hookups... | The only Grand Canyon north rim CG with hookups, we enjoyed the shady pine site and nice staff here. Scenic drive to the park takes about 45 mins. There was also a "library" room where our kids enjoyed reading on the couches. Showers were clean and warm but are $2.25 for 5 mins. The toilets are chemical but are kept clean. Our biggest complaint is that quiet hours are apparently not enforced. We had very noisy neighbors late into the night....the camp host a few sites away must not have been bothered. Also, be aware that grocery options are very slim both at the office store and at the store up the road.

| Planed to stay 2 nights...stayed 6 LOVE IT! | Capital Reef was an unplanned stop for our trip and we found 1000 lakes through camp finder. Lovely campground, great family atmosphere, quiet, clean facilities, very friendly staff, all for a fair price. Right down the road from Capital Reef NP (which is a hidden gem compared to Zion, Arches, etc). We would Highly recommend Thousand Lakes!! Only con is the closest full service grocer is 25 mins away in Loa.

| Dust bowl with electricity... | The good news: This CG is about 3 minutes from the east entrance station of Zion NP. The bad news: Everything else. Advertised as having "new and improved facilities", our site was flanked by two broken down and apparently permanent trailers, no grass or shade, just red dirt and sand. The rear of our site had trash including a sneaker. Two toilets were out of order in the men's room and the shower I used didn't have a lock on the door and was lukewarm at best. They also advertise Wi-Fi but it's not available at the campground, only at the office across the street. Playground and swimming? Where would that be? We stayed two nights and tried to stay gone all day so we would just have to sleep there. Not many options for camping on the east side of Zion but we'd stay on the other side and fight the crowds and avoid this place next trip.

| ...good experience...good price | Despite negative reviews from others we had a good experience here. Of course its dusty, you are in the middle of the desert. Our back in site was next to the pool, so yes it was loud until the pool closed. But we were here to visit arches and the blessing of our air conditioning and the fact that it was $37 made up for it. Wifi was fast. Staff was excellent and friendly. We'd stay again....hopefully when it's cooler.
