| Small family-owned and operated RV park | We had a very good time here. It was a bit different from our usual stays but in a good way. Many things are on the honor system. Firewood and ice have cash boxes mounted nearby to pay. Ice is $2 and fire wood $4. The park is fairly new, there has been a lot of hard work. The creative rainwater drainage is great. I wanted it to rain during my stay so I could see it in action. Our spot had a natural rock retaining wall that blended into a fire pit. Very nice. There is cable TV and WiFi. There a few long term camps, but they are well kept and everyone we met was friendly and chatty. We went on Labor Day so the park was full. Little River Canyon and Desoto State Park are nearby. There are also antique stores and a nice coffee stand which has a shop too, (The Spot) in Fort Payne.

| Beachy, of course. Sun, ocean breezes and sand. | Check-in was easy. You can reserve the road but you choose the site when you arrive. After seeing the park, all sites are about equal. They are paved and mostly level. We did not have any WIFI access. The spaces are large without much shade. We were glad to have a sun wall to attach to our pop up sun shade. It is hot in August but there is a fairly constant breeze. The area is great with a lot to do for a family. We are close to everything. The state park also runs several very nice beach access areas on the strip along the beach. If you are a camper, you can use those areas at no cost. The beaches are beautiful and there are numerous areas to choose from. There is also access to a lake, with a swim area. The lake is mixed fresh and salt water, turning it red in some places. Mostly it is dark blue and beautiful. We also rode zip lines over the lake as one of the many things to do in the area.

| On its way to being one of the best | I live very near this campground. I haven't been there in years. They have really improved the entire park area. The falls part of the park is super nice. The campground was clean and well shaded. Each evening we could clearly hear Sheila the lioness across the gorge. It's cool to hear a lion as you relax next to your camper. The trails are also very popular. I intend to walk them often now that I realize there is such a gem so close to my home. There is cable and wifi throughout the campground.

| Clean, beautiful and well located | We had a wonderful time here. The pools and hot tubs are great after hot days. We went for the Marine Corps graduation ceremony at nearby Paris island and stayed to enjoy Hilton Head afterwards. I wish we had more time. We did not experience all the amenities that the park and the area had to offer. Sites are shaded and we'll kept. People and other campers are super friendly. Locals are also pleasant and friendly. We will stay here again.

| Area is beautiful, nice for visits, but camp elsewhere | We read the other review and we're coming at nearby Guntersville State Park. We took some time to visit Buck's Pocket State Park. Very "country" and beautiful. Access road will put big-trailer drivers to the test. Unfortunately the facilities were very poor. Bathhouse was horrible with no working urinals and only one working toilet. Showers - ugh! Women's side was just as bad. If you're just a group of dudes, then try it out. If you want to keep your ladies happy, it's a day trip. Camp at Guntersville and visit as we did and you will be happy. This campground looked like it was wonderful in its day, but it appears to not be maintained and suffers from years of neglect. Not to leave on a negative comment, the area is beautiful and we found great areas to fish and kayak in other areas of the park. We will return, just not with our camper.

| wonderful, friendly, and clean | We love this place. Park host and ranger are friendly and helpful. This may be the cleanest and well maintained campground we have been to. We will return. Highly recommended

Very nice. Gated and quiet. Lots of people, but that was no problem. Lake is beautiful and calm. We kayaked, fished, and rode bikes. Town is close, people are friendly and helpful. Bathhouses are some of the cleanest I have seen. Ours was air conditioned as well. Last campers left our site a mess, so we had to do some cleaning when we arrived, but that isn't the parks fault. Just FYI: No local TV reception in the campground, but cellphone 4G was strong. We will camp here again.

This park has been a wonderful experience. The sites are level and well shaded, plus healthy tree population. Roads are paved and there is a store as well as plentiful bathhouses. Bathhouses are not perfect but good enough. If you don't like one, it's a short walk to another. Plenty to do both at the park and its surrounding areas. We enjoyed the stay.

Pretty nice, but we had trouble with carpenter ants. There seemed to be a thriving population in the lower campground. Otherwise trip was good. Impressive boardwalk to a scenic look out.

We stayed here to check "city camping" off our list. Marietta is a wonderful city with plenty to do. We stayed about 4 days and made several new friends. Clean, quiet and safe. Highly recommended and we will stay again; there are many things we still want to see.
