| Beautiful and family-oriented | Beautiful, pristine lake (Jocassee), lovely spacious wooded lots, several nice sandy beaches, great playground, kayaks to rent, pontoon trips to take to the numerous waterfalls, friendly and helpful staff, clean facilities - this is a large, well-run campground, with sites for rustic tent camping or huge RVs. An onsite shop has snacks and burgers/hotdogs, etc., and the park ranger office store has all kinds of souvenirs, camping gear, maps and so forth. There is also a Dollar General store within a few miles for those forgotten supplies. We have been here twice now, once with two small grandsons who loved it, and we can't wait to go again.

First visit here. Luckily it was only half full as the sites are very crowded together. There is a nice playground and several beaches for swimming but the lake itself (Keowee) is small, very busy, and lined with large houses, manicured lawns, boat docks and riprap. For a more natural setting, try a campground on either Jocasee or Hartwell (the lakes just above and below this one).
