Saving money for dinnerware and utensils
I've always been using paper plates and plastic utensils whenever I go camping. Lately, I've been considering of getting a set of real dinnerware and utensils (either plastic or ceramic plates and silverware or stainless steel utensils) that we can use whenever we go camping or RVing. No doubt, they are more expensive than the paper stuff if I get them right now. But I'm thinking that they would help us save money in the long run. Anyone can give any suggestions on what brand would be economical?

Corelle dishes are okay. Got them from Walmart. Very sturdy and it's got a lot of pretty patterns. At the same time, it's not as heavy as the earthenware types.

We still bring a few stashes of paper plates with us whenever we're traveling, especially when we're going with a large group. Clean up is definitely a lot easier.

I agree on the Corelle dishes.

We actually have all three: paper for large gatherings (or when we are too tired and just want to eat), plastic for everyday, and ceramic for those special occasions.

We pretty much have the same set in our Motorhome. Paper still works great for large group gatherings. Plastic comes in really handy for big groups too and when it's really windy. But if it's just me and my family, we get out our Corelle dishes.
