| Great state park to camp for a weekend | I have to say I was surprised how good this park was.
The sites are grass/dirt, wooded and shaded, come with a fire ring and picnic table. They are very spacious. The restrooms and showers were clean and worked well. It's all dry camping, but that was fine for us.
There was a nice lake in the park, several children's playgrounds and several different trails to hike and picnic areas.
The only issue is the garden state parkway runs through the middle of it, so you do get the background noise of traffic in some parts - but it wasn't too bad. Also note to get to the family campground you have to drive under the parkway and the bridge has an 11ft clearance. So it may be too low for Fifth Wheelers and Class A motorhomes.

| Nice resort - best for seasonal camping | We stayed one night. It's a big resort that sits right on Panther Lake with nice views.
It has a lot facilities and amenities including a pool and tennis courts. Everything is clean and well maintained. We rented a canoe on the lake which was fun.
There weren't any other overnighters like ourselves and it's definitely set up for seasonal campers.

Re: Why Do RV Tires Wear Out Easily? | It all depends on how you take care of your tires, liz. I've known some people that are using tires that are about 8 or 10 years old. Not to mention that they go on trips more frequent than we do.

Yes, it is possible. Had to go through that same experience, too when my son accidentally spilled some milk on my laptop. Although personally, I would suggest to bring to the service center of your laptop's manufacturer rather than in one of those general computer shops. Authorized service centers would usually give a warranty after they do any repairs on your laptop.

Re: Do You Go Shopping in Rummage Sales? | All the time! And not just for our RV. In fact, I just bought a few neat items for our home in a flea market we came across on our way here to Florida where we're camping now.

Re: Advice Negotiating a Price for a New Fifth Wheel | TShisler wrote A friend of mine has been out shopping for a new fifth wheel. His budget is in the mid 40's. He recently got to talk to a sales agent who told him that there is a sale for two models: a 2013 Keystone Avalanche 341tg and a Dutchmen Komfort 3530FBH. According to the sales agent, they are both available for about $45K. It's within his budget, but he is still trying to see if there is a way that he can negotiate the price even further.
I recently checked the MSRP of these two models, and they are running between 61K and 63K.
Is what he's hoping realistic, or is it stretching it way too much.
It all depends on how your friend will bargain for it. I would recommend that he first sits down and check to see what his bargaining chips may be. Telling the dealer that he'll be paying in cash or saying that he's willing to put in a large deposit can increase his chances of getting it for the price that he's willing to pay.

Re: 50amp Extension Cord Questions | Way too short if you ask me. Getting a 25' like everyone else suggested here will be pretty good. It will sure come in handy whenever you go camping since not all campgrounds install RVer-friendly hookups, if you know what I mean.

Light on chassis keep turning on | We noticed this morning that the chassis battery light on our dashboard keeps turning on and off. Tried checking everything and we notice that it usually happens whenever we turn on our furnace. We're not running our generator so we're assuming that the furnace is running on our house batteries. Is it putting too much draw on our chassis battery? Or is our chassis battery already going bad?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Is Florida the best place to get an RV? | We're currently here at Ft. Meyers, FL and did a bit of exploring. I'm surprised on how many RV dealerships are here that's got a wider selection than back home. I just have to wonder if this is a good place to buy a new motorhome? We've been actually considering on upgrading to a motorhome soon. Love to hear your feedback on this.

Re: Microwave Won't Work While Using the Generator | Are you using a built-in generator or a portable one? If it's a built-in, could be that one of the switches in the circuit breaker tripped to OFF.
On the other hand, if it's a portable generator, it could be that it's just not simply able to handle the load. Most portable generators will only allow you to run one "heavy" electronic item at a time. Try turning off the A/C and water heater before starting to run the microwave and see if that will do the trick.
