| Great campground except for the noise | If a basic campground is all you want, you'll find it in Riverwalk and perhaps a bit more. The sites are large and long enough even for big RVs, with room enough for picnic tables. FHUs available, with excellent cable and wi-fi. The grounds are neat and the bathrooms are spotless. The staff are very friendly. There's even a heated pool. The one big downside to staying at this place is its vicinity to a gun range and a highway. This means lots of gunshot noise in the afternoon and lots of truck noise at night. Quite a bummer. Otherwise, it's a great campground.

| A nice, wooded, pet-friendly park | This park is nestled in a wooded area. Very nice, very quiet, with updated facilities. Very clean. Dogs are welcome here, and they've got a small area for them to run around. My only complaint is they've only got one shower for the whole campground.

Oak Forest is some 7 or 8 miles away from most Austin sights, but I think it's worth the drive. The park is lovely and well-maintained with lots of nice, shaded sites. The sites are level and concrete and full hookups are available, including cable TV and wi-fi. The wi-fi is frustratingly slow, though, so unless you have your own wireless card, just use the wi-fi for emails. The grounds and facilities are well-maintained. The bathrooms and laundry room are spotless. The staff seemed friendly enough, but then again we didn't get to interact with them much.

I don't think the $50 rate we paid for staying at this resort is worth it. The site we got was not so bad, as it was level, had full hookups and we did get some space around our rig. But it seems that the longer-term guests get the best sites. There's no cable TV and the place doesn't even get an antenna signal. Wi-fi is available only at the clubhouse, and the clubhouse is a long walk from our site. The pool is unheated and children are allowed in the hot tub when the rules say they're not supposed to be there.

| Very quiet park right by the Guadalupe River | By the River is an excellent park to stay in if you're looking for a quiet place to crash for the night after a day of touring the sights nearby. It's very peaceful here, with hardly any road noise. It's also right by the Guadalupe River, and the views are really pretty. As for the amenities and the facilities, they're all clean and kept in good order. I just didn't like having to climb up a hill to get to the office, the washrooms and the laundry. The pool is also located there, so it's a bit of a hassle. In addition, unless you have a premium site, you may have to squeeze your rig into a narrow spot. Otherwise, we had a pleasant enough stay and we may return.

| Nice retirement community | My impression of this place is it's well-run by some of the friendliest staff I've met as yet. They keep the place clean and pleasant for guests and long-term residents. The sites are the largest I have seen in any Arizona RV park, and they have full hookups, cable TV and wi-fi available. Our neighbors were warm and friendly people. The setting is quiet and lovely. The only downside to this park is they don't have a decent dog run. I had to go out to the perimeter to walk my dogs. Otherwise it's a very nice place to stay at.

| Spectacular Sites Available for the Privileged Few | This is a really nice and quiet campground with lots of shade and scenic sites on the way to the RV lots. The staff and the host working here are very pleasant. This is a very basic campground like most of the others that you will find in this area, which means that there are no hookups here. There are faucets and dump stations located around the campground. While they provide bathhouses, there are no shower facilities in this campground. Only a few sites provide spectacular views of the North Rim, and because they follow a first come, first serve policy, it is best to head out here early to get a lot with a view. My only complaint is that the staff could make some effort to make sure that the large sites are given out to those that have large RVs. It was really frustrating to try to squeeze our huge travel trailer into the lot they provided us only to find a family with a smaller RV unit booked in a space that would perfectly fit our large RV.

if you're looking for first-class amenities, Bodega Dunes is not the place for you. Dry camping here only, no hookups or whatever. The restrooms and the showers are not so clean and the water is cold. The camp hosts are awesome, but the other people staffing this campground are indifferent. But if you focus on the views, you can forget about these tiny inconveniences. The sights are just wonderful. The beach is just a short walk away, and there's lots of things for kids to do, like hiking, biking and horseback riding. It's really worth staying here.

| One of California's best state beaches | Even though it's very hard to reserve a site here and you've got to be very lucky to get a really nice site, we love this state beach for many reasons. One, all the sites are large and many have full hookups available (even though these full hookup sites are hard to get). Two, easy access to the beach. Three, you can take your dog to the beach as long as you have it leashed. Four, it's always kept very clean, including the restrooms. The only thing we didn't like about this beach is it can get really crowded on the weekends, but I guess it can't be helped given how popular this beach is.

On the positive side, this county park is clean. There are only water and electric hookups available, but there's a dumpsite within the park. The sites are large enough and are well-spaced from each other for privacy. There is a large playground for the kids as well as a hiking trail at the back of the park. On the downside, there is no hot water in the restroom and they don't provide soap or toilet paper. The roads inside the park are also very narrow.
