| A great place to get away | If you come here early and get the right spot, you'd be treated to some of the most beautiful views this side of California. Otherwise, your view would be blocked by trees. Nonetheless, this state park is undoubtedly beautiful. It's aging a bit, but it's kept clean and orderly. No amenities whatsoever, so be prepared to dry camp. It's very quiet, but you can hear the sea lions barking. Very peaceful, very serene, a great place to get away.

We didn't feel quite at home here. The staff were friendly and polite enough, though, and the park itself was comfortable. The sites were concrete, large and long enough, but definitely not level. Had full hookup sites with cable TV, but didn't bother with the wi-fi because it's not reliable, limited to only one device and usage is severely restricted. We didn't bother using the park's showers either because they're located at the office and they're only open during office hours. Other facilities are only so-so. Maybe we'll stay here again, but only if there aren't any other parks available.

My family and I went here to visit the caverns and we made our reservations well beforehand. It was money well-spent. The caverns are truly magnificent. Aside from the cavern tours, there's nothing much to do here, though, although kids can ride their bikes if they want. Sites are clean, with water and electric hookups. No sewer, wi-fi or cable TV. The camp hosts are friendly people and they do a good job at keeping the place neat as a pin.

| Peaceful and Friendly Host | There's nothing much to this park in that they don't have the perks you'd typically find in other RV parks like a clubhouse or cable TV. But what we loved about this park is it's very peaceful and the sites were very large and level with full hookups, and the place itself is very clean and well-maintained. Most of all, the people here are very friendly, especially the host. The host helped us get set up and drove by regularly to make sure that we have all we need during our stay. That is something we rarely see in many campgrounds these days, and we'd be only too happy to come back here soon.

| Nothing fancy but very convenient | The biggest thing going for this park is its location. Only a couple of miles away from Disneyland and a mile away from shopping and dining options and a movie theater. Anaheim Stadium is also very close by. This is no resort, though, so don't expect any resort-type amenities. Having said that, this place is very clean. The asphalt pull throughs are roomy and look very nice with their picnic tables and shade. There's cable and wi-fi works excellently. Nearly half of the tenants here are long-term residents, and it's a friendly community. The staff are probably the friendliest folk I've ever met in my years of RVing. I'd rate this place more highly if it had some more amenities.

This campground is beautiful, right within a redwood forest, and the staff seem to work hard to maintain its natural appeal. We had to reserve our spot a year ahead, but the wait was worth it. The playground is great, they've got working water and electric, and the bathrooms and laundry are squeaky clean. Not having a clear cellphone signal here may annoy you if you need to be connected, but that didn't matter for us. The campground doesn't have sewer hookups, but they've got a dumpsite, althoughg you have to wait a little for the drain to work. Also, it's dark here at night, so be careful if you have to drive around after dark. But it was worth the wait for us, and we've already reserved our spot for next year.

We enjoyed our stay here, but more because we chose to ignore the lack of amenities on this park and focused on the fun we could have instead. And it's indeed fun. We went swimming and fishing and biked around until we're beat. As to the campground itself, the sites are too tight, the place gets filled up quickly and there are no amenities whatsoever - no toilets, no water spigots, no dump sites. You need to be prepared for dry camping before you arrive here.

| Exceeded our expectations | We were on the last stop of a long crosscountry road trip before heading home. After a series of less than comfortable nights in overpriced campgrounds, we were resigned to spend another such night at Lake Kandle. We were pleasantly surprised to find that this place is very quiet and had large sites that are well away from the neighbors. The owners were very helpful and made sure that we had all we need for a comfortable stay. We truly appreciate their effort and sure enough, we had a wonderful time at this campground. The park has a nice setting and the people there, staff and seasonals alike, were all very friendly and welcoming. It's also quite clean, and they've got full hookup sites with wifi but no cable. There are two things that I didn't like about this place, though. One is the site we got was too tight for our rig. We had to park our car outside our site, and we had to move it every time one of our neighbors needs to back in to their site. The other is it's in the middle of nowhere. You have to do a lot of driving to be able to get to the local attractions or to get some shopping done or if you want to eat out.

| Mostly for older, seasonal RVers | The campground caters mostly to the older, seasonal RVer crowd, but it does have a few sites reserved for short-term guests. It's a very quiet and very clean place filled with friendly people. The owner and staff are also very friendly but they generally leave you alone to do your own thing. Town is just a short drive away if you want to find something to amuse you, but there is a clubhouse with a gameroom if you want to stay in. It doesn't have 50amps or wi-fi, but cable TV is good. Not a kid-friendly place, but then again, as I've said, the campground caters mostly to the seasoned folk.
