I have stayed at both North Pines and Upper Pines in Yosemite NP. I prefer North Pines as it is smaller, quieter and right by the Merced River. However, if you cannot get into it then try Upper Pines.

It's a nice enough campground, but bigger more crowded and noisy than the other campgrounds in the valley. The sites are all wooded and shaded and level. Reasonable size too. The only amenities available are flush toilets. Every site has a picnic table, fire ring and grill.

Hot Showers are available nearby at Curry Village as is free WiFi.

We stayed here in a Class C Motorhome.
