Great base camp to explore area and bird watch.

We camped on the reservoir dry camping and 3 nights with hookups to charge our house batteries. The new owner is very helpful, friendly and working hard to make this sweet park a nice place to stay. It's very quiet even though it's on Highway 182, 2 miles north of Bridgeport. We used the site as a base camp to explore backroads in our Honda Element and to hike into the many glaciated canyons nearby. We spent 1 day exploring Bodie State Park ghost town. We watched Pelicans, Eared Grebes, Kingbirds, Killdeer with their babies, and Nighthawks feeding on evening insects. The lake was full and boaters say it's the best fishing in the county.

We stayed here in a Class A Motorhome.

We arrived just before fishing season and the park wasn't officially open, but the owners were really friendly and let us stay a couple of days. Great view of the lake, close to town, but very quiet.

We stayed here in a 5th Wheel.
