| Closest to Strasburg Rail Road | |
With plans to visit the Strasburg Rail Road and the attractions in Intercourse, Pennsylvania, I reserved a campsite here in September 2015 because it was closest to those attractions. The amenities of the campground were of little concern to us as long as we had hook-ups and a place to park our motorhome.
Compared with other campgrounds we've visited, this one is relatively small and doesn't have modern 50-amp electrical hookups. Nonetheless, we managed just fine with a "cheater" cable that enabled us to hook up to both the 30-amp and 20-amp connectors in the power box (see photo) and run everything we needed.
In a country setting with a creek along part of the campground's perimeter and an Amish farm on the other side, we were delighted with the lack of noisy traffic. Campground staff and the other campers were friendlier than we've found in many other campgrounds. Being away from major highways, getting in and out of the campground with our motorhome was easier than other campgrounds in the Lancaster area where we've stayed and it was quieter. The old mill is open to campers without charge as is the historic covered bridge.
Staying in our self-contained RV, I didn't explore the campground's restrooms and laundry but I checked out the modern swimming pool which some swimmers were obviously enjoying. Our site could have been more level and we found the hookups to be inconveniently located, but we had a pleasant stay.
We stayed here in a Class A Motorhome. | | Comments (0) |

Great store, super friendly folks. Beautiful river and old bridges but potentially dangerous for toddlers/ young kids. They did have a nice playground (complete with a wooden train). Easy drive to railroad museum, Amish House and quaint downtown. Laundry and bathrooms very clean, hot showers. Neighbors an Amish dairy farm, lots of horse and cart buggies.
We stayed here in a Class C Motorhome. | | Comments (0) |

| Great park, clean and very friendly | |
Clean, nice level sites, friendly staff and clean bathrooms. Right in the middle of Amish country lots to see. Sites were clean and level, pool was very enjoyable and very clean. Historical covered bridge to see and an historical mill and water wheel.
We stayed here in a Class B Motorhome. | | Comments (0) |
