Beautiful mountain camping

This is in my opinion the best camping in Big Bear. Snowberry Loop has the hookups and our favorite sites are in the high 50's. Great hiking/biking trails to the discovery center or the lake. Not far from shopping and dining. We have stayed here in a tent trailer and a travel trailer.

We stayed here in a Travel Trailer.

I stayed in the Evening Star loop with friends and found the site clean and well-shaded. The restroom facilities were very clean for a campground and the free, hot showers were nice. There were very few insects, which was awesome for a wooded site. In fact, I went home without a single insect bite after two nights camping. Because of the on-going drought, the campground prohibited wood or charcoal fires. Luckily, someone in our group brought a portable propane fire which was allowable. A coyote went through our campsite, but once it saw my German Shepherd, it decided to leave quickly.

We stayed here in a Tent.

Stayed here many times. Not much of a getaway because campground is right next to Hwy 38 so you get a lot of traffic noise. Pros - the campground is near the lake and bike paths/hiking trails. Flush toilets/hot showers and some sites have power/water.

We stayed here in a Popup Trailer.
